is a special invitation to join us on a journey to visit the spectacular gardens and castles of Scotland. From the strangely near-subtropic climate of the southwest coast, to the Scottish highlands, and finally to Edinburgh, our journey takes us to gardens representing every important period of garden design history. It also takes us to see beautiful castles and stunning scenery.
Our hosts for this fantastic adventure are Robert and Nancy McDuffie, both former professors at Virginia Tech. Robert is a landscape architect
and retired director of the Hahn Horticulture Garden. After teaching
landscape design and lecturing on the history of gardens for more than three decades, Robert now turns his attention to sharing the best gardens in the world with garden lovers everywhere.
Nancy was head of vocal studies in the Music Department and as a performing soprano has sung professionally for many years. This is their second trip to Scotland.
