This coming September 13-20, the Big Apple will be our home as we explore the finest gardens in greater New York City on a tour called, “Autumn in New York.” Fall is a very special time in the City—the leaves are starting to turn, the air is cool, and the gardens are enjoying a respite from the heat of summer.

New York boasts some of the finest gardens in the world. Also, woven into the fabric of the city are many great parks and open spaces that make it a more livable place. On our adventure, we visit 4 of the 5 boroughs, starting in Queens, branching out to Brooklyn and the Bronx, and then finally ending up in Manhattan.

While we see many wonderful gardens, you'll also be getting the full New York City experience, with a special driving tour of Manhattan plus a private cruise around Manhattan hosted by an architect from New York's AIA. Oh, and we have brunch at Tavern on the Green too.

There is so much that we see and do on this tour. But there is also lots of free time, with most evenings and one entire day on-your-own. Plus the location of our Manhattan hotel—near Times Square—allows you to do lots of exploring on your own. There is plenty of time to see shows, visit museums or even look for your roots on Ellis Island!

The cost of the land-only package is $2850 per person (double occupancy). Since folks will be flying to New York from different cities, the flight is not included in the cost. But we are happy to help arrange your flight to New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Whether you fly, take a train, drive, or walk, you’re in for a memorable experience! We are limiting the number of participants to 30, so sign up early.

Once you arrive at LaGuardia, the hotel shuttle will deliver you directly to our hotel in Queens.  It is our base of operations for the first three days before we move into our midtown Manhattan hotel.

Over the years, Nancy and I have taken our students to the Big Apple dozens of times to enjoy the gardens, the shows, the opera, and all the many things that make New York so special.  It is our goal to help you enjoy it to the fullest!
